■ I never imagined that the inside of a tunnel would be like this

The Spring Water Tunnel Park is located a 10-minute walk south of Takamori Station.

Construction work to connect the former JNR Takamori Line and Takachiho Line began in December 1973, but in February 1975,
the tunnel construction suddenly caused a large amount of water to flood,
and subsequent flooding accidents led to the construction being halted.
As a result,
it is now a valuable water source for Takamori Town.

The tunnel is 2,055 meters long. There is a constant flow of 32 tons of water per minute.

Inside the tunnel,
you can see the water source that flows like a waterfall from the unexcavated bedrock,
and the Water Pearl, a mechanical fountain with mysterious water droplets.

In addition, the Tanabata Festival is held every July, and the Christmas Fantasy is held from mid-November to December.
