Shirakawa-go Farm Village

Today we will take you to Shirakawa-go Village. This village is also registered as a World Heritage Site. I must say that if you have the chance, you should definitely go. We traveled during the spring. The weather was very good. It was cool and sunny. We could still see the snow-capped mountains in the distance. We spent half a day walking around the village. There are still people living in this village. It made me feel sorry for the people there. When it becomes a tourist attraction, their peaceful life will disappear.

Shirakawa-go Village has a unique identity: thatched roofs with thick straw. The triangular roofs are very cute. You can see them from any angle. Around the village, there are restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops.

🚗How to get there: Take a bus from Takayama. Get on the bus at the bus station near Takayama Station. The ride is about 1 hour.
