There are several sake breweries in Takayama. I recommend Funasaka Brewery. There, insert 200 yen into a gacha (sake gacha) machine and you'll get a bowl containing a sake cup and a coin. Insert the coin into the sake machine of your choice, press the button, and your sake will be dispensed. If you want more, you can buy more coins at the coin exchange machine. You can keep the sake cup with you. I tried the yuzu sake and it was delicious, so I bought a bottle.
