Takayama: A Timeless Old Town Beloved by Tourists

Sanmachi Street is the main street,
lined with traditional Japanese-style houses dating back to the Edo period (approximately 200 years ago), and has been well-preserved to this day.
This street is lined with shops, restaurants, 🥓
sake breweries, and a museum displaying artifacts from the past, making it a delightful place to stroll.
The must-try in this area is Hida Kotte Ushi 🍣, a Hida beef sushi restaurant offering freshly made sushi at affordable prices.
For first-timers, order Set C (1,200 yen). This includes three pieces:
Hida Beef Sushi (Medium Rare) with Ginger,
Soy Sauce, and Salt, and another piece of Hida Beef
Sushi (Medium Rare) with Gungan, topped with a raw egg yolk.
It's incredibly delicious, just the right amount of flavor for multiple tastes.
I love how they use rice crackers as sushi containers,
you can even eat them.
For a beautiful cafe, I recommend Hida Takayama Cafe. The cafe has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The shop is beautifully made of wood.
The entrance gate is a replica of the Ninomaru Gate of Takayama Castle, renovated from an old house.
There are several seating areas and beautiful photo spots. Inside, there's a cafe. If you're looking to try some local Takayama cuisine, they also sell sandwiches and curry soup made from Hida beef. 🥩
