🏛️ Overview
Elevation: 1,529 meters. A sacred mountain in the Hida region.
Hiking Trail:
Approximately 5.5 hours (12 km) round trip (Start at the roadside station)
Approximately 2 hours round trip (Giant Stone Trail) (Drive to midpoint)

- The scenery of Mt. Irai is sometimes compared to the sacred giant stones and trees featured in the film "Your Name," creating a mystical image that resonates with fans.

- Megaliths and Mysterious Nature
- Numerous megaliths dot the hiking trail, with a central rock known as "Amanoiwato" (Cave of Heaven) near the summit.

- The ceremony to bestow the rank of Emperor Jimmu on this mountain is said to have taken place here, leading to the name "Mt. Irai."

- Mt. Irai is the setting for mystical legends such as the "Takamanohara Legend," the "Giant Stones," and the "Pyramid Theory," and is still attracting attention as a power spot today.

⚠️Caution
Danahira Forest Road is currently closed due to a landslide and is scheduled for restoration after April 2026. Therefore, access to the mid-mountain by car is currently unavailable. For hiking, please use the route from the ski slope.
