[Ishigaki Island] Enjoy the traditional Okinawan scenery! Taketomi Island 🌺

Taketomi Island is about a 10-minute ferry ride from Ishigaki Island. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a landscape of red-tiled roofs, white-sand roads, and villages surrounded by stone walls, making us feel as if we had traveled back in time to old Okinawa.

We took a leisurely ride around the island on a rental bicycle. At Kondoi Beach and Nishi Pier, the blue sea and sky spread out as far as the eye could see, and it was a place where we could enjoy the luxury of doing nothing. The sounds of the water buffalo carts and sanshin that we encountered along the way were also soothing and perfectly matched with the relaxed atmosphere of the island.

Although it is a tourist destination, the island retains a laid-back tranquility and is a place that makes you feel lighter in your heart. If you come to Ishigaki Island, this is a spot you should definitely visit!
