📜 History & Highlights

Originally a quiet hilltop in a local village, Samet Nangshe gained fame in 2016 after stunning sunrise photos went viral. The name comes from a local legend: a nun (แม่ชี) used to walk through the area, lifting her robe to avoid water—hence “เสม็ดนางชี” (lifting the robe of the nun).

Today, it’s one of the most iconic viewpoints in southern Thailand, offering 360-degree views of Phang Nga Bay’s limestone islands, mangrove forests, and the Andaman Sea. The first light of dawn paints the sky in hues of orange and pink, often accompanied by a mystical sea of morning mist.
