The capital of Estonia is perfect for budget travel. Not least because a stroll through its main attraction, the Old Town, is completely free. It's especially beautiful in the fall 🍂

✨Entering the Old Town through the Viru Gate instantly transports you back to the Middle Ages. Narrow streets, small houses with tiled roofs—literally everything harks back to a bygone era.

✨It's no wonder it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

✨A key attraction is the Town Hall Square, where fairs and various cultural and public events still take place.

✨The 13th-century Town Hall building houses museums and the Three Dragons Tavern, where you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. Prices are low, and visitors can fish for pickled cucumbers from barrels.

The service is unusual: the employees, dressed in medieval attire, are deliberately rude (after all, customer service was out of the question back then 😅).

✨You should definitely try the sweet spiced almonds – they're sold in the souvenir stalls.
