Granville Island and Yaletown (around Oxford Street) are two highlights that you absolutely cannot miss. They are especially suitable for arranging on the same day to enjoy the waterfront style and top-notch food in the city.
🛶 Granville Island
Originally an industrial area, it has now transformed into a gathering place for art, handcrafts and food. The most unmissable thing is the Public Market, which has a wealth of fresh ingredients, desserts and prepared food stalls. Among them, the must-try-Salmon Chowder, with a rich taste and solid ingredients, is a comfort food that many locals love in winter and summer.
🚤 Take a small ferry to Yaletown (Oxford Street)
Take the lovely AquaBus water bus from Granville Island, cross the False Creek waterway, and arrive at the Oxford Street on the opposite bank (near Oxford St., belonging to Yaletown) in less than 10 minutes. The water surface is sparkling along the way, and the boat ride is short but poetic.
🦪 Rodney’s Oyster House
One of the most iconic seafood taverns in Yaletown, with a lively and informal atmosphere, top-notch fresh oysters, and a wide variety of sauces to choose from. Happy Hour is even more popular, so it is recommended to come early to reserve a seat!
🐟 Blue Water Cafe
If you want to experience a high-end dinner with local marine flavors, this is the first choice. The Japanese cuisine area (Raw Bar) is also a highlight that cannot be missed, and it has even been hailed as one of the top raw food bars in Vancouver. The sushi and sashimi platters provided here are extremely exquisite. Not only are they made from seasonal fresh fish from the west coast of Canada, but they also incorporate creative flavors and a wide selection of wines.
