Enjoy the flowers at Tianyuan Palace, eat and drink at the old street, and enjoy the beautiful sunset at the same time
09:30|Depart for Tianyuan Temple — Enjoy the flowers and pray for good scenery
Take the MRT to Tamsui Station early in the morning, then take a bus or taxi to Tianyuan Temple. This place is most famous for its cherry blossom season, but you can also come here on weekdays to feel the solemn atmosphere and mountain views. It is a great place for meditation that combines nature and religion.
11:30|Go to Tamsui Old Street — Eat and drink a large collection of classic snacks
After going down the mountain from Tianyuan Palace, return to Tamsui Old Street and embark on a small food tour! Recommended must-eats: A-gei, fish cakes, grilled squid, deep-fried shrimp rolls, iron eggs, sour plum soup and other souvenir snacks. Eat while walking and visiting specialty stores to experience the unique charm of Tamsui's old streets.
14:00|Walk along the river bank - take photos and enjoy the scenery of Tamsui
Don’t leave the old street in a hurry after walking through it. You can stroll along the riverside trail, passing by Tamsui Wharf, Little White House, Fort San Domingo and other attractions. If you have time, you can also take a ferry to Bali on the other side for a walk.
16:30|Save a spot for sunset — Fisherman’s Wharf or Old Street are both very beautiful
As evening approaches, it is recommended to go to Fisherman’s Wharf or find a seat directly on the Old Street Riverbank to enjoy the sunset in Tamsui slowly sinking into the horizon. The golden light sprinkled on the water is one of the most charming moments in Tamsui.
18:00|Dinner Suggestions
You can choose local snacks on the old street for dinner, or go to the restaurant near Fisherman’s Wharf to enjoy the sea view and evening breeze.
