Traveling from Kashgar, Xinjiang to Taxkorgan, you will inevitably pass by the Tahaman Wetland, hidden beneath the Pamir Plateau and "Father of Ice Mountains," Muztagh Ata. This secret land, covering about twenty square kilometers, seems like a pure land untouched by the noise of the world. It is not only a natural treasure but also a sacred place in the hearts of the Tajik people. It tells the story of the plateau's tranquility and grandeur in a unique way, attracting visitors and travelers from afar.
You notice it while driving because of the endless green along the roadside and the scattered, sometimes clustered, cattle, horses, sheep, and camels, resembling a captivating oil painting.
At a bend, there is a viewing platform with a cultural and creative shop, as well as coffee and milk tea. The Tahaman Wetland is affectionately called the "Land of Divine Flower Propagation" by locals. Here, every flower and blade of grass carries the gift of nature and the miracle of life. In autumn, the wetland dons a golden coat, with golden meadows harmonizing beautifully with the distant snow-capped mountains.
