Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route

• The tourist season starts from April to November.
• There are 2 places to get on the Alpine Route:

1) Tateyama Station in Toyama Prefecture, which is closer to those coming from Kyoto or Osaka.

2) Ogizawa Station in Nagano Prefecture, which is closer to those coming from Matsumoto.
• To get to Murodo Station, you have to take several buses, cable cars, ropeways, and trolley buses (electric buses that travel along the tracks above).
• Major tourist spots along this route include Kurobe Dam, the largest dam in Japan, Daikanbo, a viewpoint of the Japan Alps, Murodo Station, a long walkway lined with snow walls, and Mikuriga-ike pond, a clear pond in a valley, a large wetland area with a 360-degree view of the Alps.
