Exploring the magic of Tateyama was a highlight of my Japan journey. Think epic mountain views, crystal-clear ponds, and warming up over amazing soba 🍜⛰️ Must-do for outdoor lovers!

Top Spots to Visit:

1. Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route 🚄
Start from Dentetsu Toyama Station, take the train to Tateyama Station, then hop on the cable car to Bijodaira. The highland bus to Murodo is a ride through alpine scenery you can’t get anywhere else.

2. Murodo Terminal Rooftop Viewing Platform 🌄
Head straight to the rooftop for panoramic vistas. Clouds sometimes roll right beneath your feet. Super Instagrammable!

3. Midorigaike Pond 💧
The pond loop course is a gentle walk - photogenic and peaceful, with vibrant reflections and mountain backdrops.

Food Recommendation:
Warm up at Tateyama Soba in the Murodo Daira terminal. Their hot soba soup after a hike is absolute comfort food. A perfect mid-trip recharge!

Travel Tips:
✅ Get an early start to make the most of the alpine route’s limited weekday hours.
✅ Dress in layers, even summer gets chilly up top.
✅ Cash is handy, it’s rural Japan and card readers aren’t everywhere.
