[Ili Grassland | Wind Blows Across the Gentlest Frontier]

Ili is like an emerald gem in northwest China. When the wind blows in from the foot of the snow-capped mountains, carrying the fragrance of flowers and grass, the entire grassland becomes a breathtaking painting.

Summer on the Ili Grassland is at its most enchanting. Cattle and sheep scatter across the boundless sea of green, dotted with low white clouds, and the distant snowline of the Tianshan Mountains is clearly visible. Golden rapeseed flowers, purple lavender, and a scattering of wildflowers paint the grassland a poetic hue.

The sky here is a pure blue, and at nightfall, a sea of stars blankets the earth. Smoke rises from the herders' yurts, and the melodies of horse-head fiddles drift in the wind, like a song sung to the distant horizon.

In Ili, time seems to pass slowly. Simply sit and watch the herds move in the sunlight, letting your heart become quiet and vast, reflecting the vastness of the grassland.

✨ Tips
• Best Season: June–August, when flowers are in full bloom and the grasslands are at their most magnificent.
• Recommended Experiences: Horseback riding, staying in a yurt, and watching the sunrise and starry sky from the grasslands.
• Special Sights: Lavender fields, Nalati Grassland, and Zhaosu Tianma.
