Tenjin, Fukuoka, has a shopping district that's sure to please every trendsetter. Besides the incredibly long and packed Tenjin underground shopping area, the nearby Daimyo district is even known as "Kyushu Harajuku," with its entire street lined with trendy brands.
For those accustomed to Tokyo's Harajuku (whether it's the famous shops along Omotesando or the smaller shops in Utahara), spending some time in Daimyo when you're in Fukuoka, Kyushu, is a must. Almost every major European and American fashion brand has a branch here. Even if you're not interested in designer brands, you can still check out the other major stores, most of which feature unique and thoughtful designs.
Don't forget to shop around when you visit Fukuoka.
