[Hokkaido] Lake Kussharo Lunch: Enjoy the beauty of swans and sweet cod crabs at Japan's largest caldera lake

Lake Kussharo, the largest caldera lake in Japan, is located in Akan-Mashu National Park in Hokkaido, Japan. In winter, many migratory birds from extremely cold places such as Siberia stay at Lake Kussharo.

We had lunch at a restaurant beside Lake Kussharo and the lake view outside the window was intoxicating. There is also a small shop outside the restaurant that sells a variety of Hokkaido specialties and souvenirs, including the popular Chiikawa Hokkaido limited products.

The star dish of lunch is undoubtedly the cod crab. The meat of the cod crab is sweet and fresh. It can be eaten as sashimi or put in hot pot. The vegetables absorbed the freshness of the crab, making you unable to stop eating.
