Tianjin Wudadao Cycling Diary | Encountering International Architecture in the Late Summer Breeze🧡

In early autumn, the sycamore leaves on Wudadao haven't yet turned yellow, and sunlight filters through the branches onto the asphalt. It's the perfect time for cycling. Hopping onto a bicycle and leisurely traversing Dali Road and Machang Road is like flipping through a three-dimensional architectural yearbook: the English red-brick Prince Qing's Mansion, the Italianate arcades of Cao Yu's Former Residence, and the Spanish courtyard of Zhang Xueliang's former residence—each small building holds a slice of Republican history.

The greatest joy of cycling is the freedom to stop wherever you please. Grab a hawthorn cold brew on the west side of Minyuan Stadium and sit on the steps, watching the sightseeing carriages ding-dong by. A gentle breeze, neither cold nor dry, fills the air with the sweet fragrance of osmanthus blossoms about to bloom.

"Two wheels and a tree-lined path are the most comfortable way to experience Tianjin."
▶️ Tip: Shared bikes are readily available for rental. Focus on visiting Cao Yu's Former Residence and Prince Qing's Mansion; the entire trip takes just two hours.
