Tianmu Mountain is located in Lin'an, Zhejiang. It covers a large area and is divided into East Tianmu Mountain and West Tianmu Mountain. The two mountains are 10 kilometers apart, and each peak has a pool at the top, resembling bright eyes gazing at the sky, hence the name 'Tianmu' (Heavenly Eyes). Tianmu Mountain has ancient geology and complete vegetation, earning the reputation of 'Great Trees Canopy Known Throughout the Land'.
Tianmu Mountain is deservedly known as the 'green lung' of the suburbs of Hangzhou. It has a large area of primitive forest reserve with 95% vegetation coverage and is a world biosphere reserve. The best seasons to visit Tianmu Mountain are spring and summer, but the scenery in autumn and winter is also impressive. During these seasons, the flora displays various colors, with towering ancient trees in the primitive forest, giving a sense of complete immersion in nature.
The scenery of West Tianmu Mountain is extremely beautiful, with the saying 'Tianmu's thousand layers of beauty, ten miles deep in forest'. Additionally, West Tianmu Mountain is known for its 'Six Wonders': flying springs, strange rocks, cloud peaks, great trees, temples, and tea bamboo shoots.
There are many streams and waterfalls here, such as Tianmu Creek, Bixi Creek, and Huangmei Creek, flowing through the valleys. You can swim, camp in shallow areas, and trace the streams. The water is particularly clear and green, making it a rare summer treasure for cooling off and playing in the water around Hangzhou.
