Sensoji Temple was founded in 628. It is one of the oldest temples in Tokyo. It was designated as the prayer place of the shogunate by Tokugawa Ieyasu in the Edo period. It is also the center of Japanese common people's culture. When it comes to free travel in Tokyo, Asakusa is definitely a must-visit Tokyo attractions, especially the famous "Sensoji Temple" and its iconic gate "Thundermon". As the oldest temple in Tokyo, Sensoji Temple has been a symbol of prosperity since the Edo period.
Today's Asakusa still retains one of the few Edo-machi atmospheres in Tokyo, and you can feel the pulse of ancient history in modern Tokyo. When entering Asakusa, the first stop must be to take a photo with the huge red lantern "Thundermon Gate", then walk along the "Nakamise Dori Shopping Street" filled with Japanese sweets and special souvenirs, and all the way to "Sensoji Temple" to worship Asking for autographs and buying a guardian are my favorite Asakusa walking tours🥰
