The symbol of Tokyo University, the most famous university in Japan, is the ginkgo tree, and there are many ginkgo trees and ginkgo paths on campus, and they show off their yellow colors every fall to welcome autumn.
The peak is from late November to mid-December, and after that, the leaves start to fall.
If you visit Tokyo during this time, I highly recommend visiting, and you can buy a ballpoint pen with the Tokyo University logo at the university souvenir shop, and experience cheap and delicious school meals at the university cafeteria.
It's a bit far from the subway, so you have to walk, but it's worth visiting and taking pictures.
The old school gate, Akamon (Red Gate), is also well known as the school's symbol.
