Over 1,000 lucky cats are waiting for you

Gotokuji Temple is located in Setagaya, Tokyo, about a 15-minute drive from Shinjuku. There are about 1,000 lucky cats placed in the temple, which attracts many people to visit. The lucky cat is different from the fortune cat. The lucky cat raises its right hand, while the fortune cat raises its left hand.

Gotokuji Temple sells Maneki Neko, and you can start by buying the smallest ones. After the wish was fulfilled, I took it back to Houde Temple and bought a bigger one. Because of this practice, Gotokuji Temple is filled with large and small lucky cats. I would like to remind everyone that if you want to buy the big lucky cat, you should come early. When I went there at about 12:00 noon, only the smallest lucky cat was left.

In addition to the lucky cat, Gotokuji Temple has red leaves in autumn and winter 🍁, and cherry blossoms in spring 🌸, the scenery is beautiful. I went there in early December, which happened to be the red leaf season. When I saw the red and orange leaves and the triple-story pagoda, I kept taking pictures📷!
