"Radio Calisthenics Plaza" that colors the morning of Ueno Park

Located within Ueno Onshi Park, the "Radio Calisthenics Plaza" is a beloved spot for many people who gather from early morning to promote health. It is about a 5-minute walk from JR Ueno Station Park Exit, and radio calisthenics are held every morning from 6:30 AM. This plaza has been active since 1952 (Showa 27), and nowadays, about 300 people sometimes participate.

At the plaza, there is a bronze statue erected to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of radio calisthenics, giving visitors a sense of history and tradition. Also, every year on the Vernal Equinox Day, the "Bronze Statue Memorial Radio Calisthenics Tournament" is held, bustling with many participants.

Surrounded by the nature of Ueno Park, moving your body while feeling the fresh morning air here refreshes both mind and body. Before sightseeing or strolling, why not try participating once?
