[Setagaya Daikan Residence, Setagaya, Tokyo] To a historic mansion

I visited the Setagaya Daikan Residence in Setagaya, Tokyo☺️

This place served as the residence and office of the Oba family, who inherited the position of daikan (magistrate) of 20 villages in the Setagaya domain of the Hikone clan since the mid-Edo period, and is also called the Oba Daikan Residence.

It was the first location in Tokyo to be designated as an Important Cultural Property by the national government.

It is located within the venue of the Setagaya Boroichi Market, held four times a year.

I was able to learn about history from the old building!
