As a supporter of MUJI, staying at MUJI Hotel Ginza was truly an unforgettable experience! As an extension of the MUJI brand, this hotel perfectly embodies the blend of minimalism and comfortable living.
The moment you step into the hotel lobby, you are drawn in by its simple yet warm design. The lobby features abundant wooden materials paired with a stone wall backdrop, creating a natural and tranquil atmosphere. The large "MUJI HOTEL GINZA" sign behind the reception desk is iconic, and the staff are very polite, making the check-in process smooth. Although the space isn’t very large, every detail is thoughtfully designed, instantly helping you relax.
The hotel is located in the heart of Ginza, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. At night, the view from above of Ginza’s nightscape is stunning—bustling yet peaceful, perfectly reflecting Tokyo’s multifaceted charm.
The rooms are not very spacious but are very practical, never feeling cramped. They feature plenty of wooden elements, with light-colored walls and furniture paired with white bedding, giving a clean and warm feeling. There’s a small lamp and a simple control panel by the bed, allowing you to control the curtains and lighting with one touch, combining technology and comfort.
The room also includes a blue single chair and a small coffee table, perfect for reading or enjoying a cup of tea in the evening, creating a leisurely vibe. The desk is stocked with MUJI stationery and small items, and even the coffee machine and kettle are classic MUJI designs, showing attention to detail everywhere. The biggest surprise is the ample storage space in the room, with well-organized closets and drawers, so even after several days, it never feels messy.
The bathroom is designed with gray stone, simple yet very high-quality. In Tokyo’s precious space, having a bathtub is a huge delight—you can soak in a hot bath at night, which is a real treat! The shower area is separate from the bathtub and offers both handheld and overhead shower options, providing plenty of choices. The bathroom amenities are, of course, MUJI products, with fragrance-free shampoo and body wash, safe for sensitive skin.
Right downstairs is the MUJI flagship store, occupying the entire building from the first to the fifth floor, offering everything from clothing to home goods—a paradise for MUJI fans. Ginza itself is one of Tokyo’s most bustling shopping districts, just a few steps from Yurakucho and Shimbashi, with many upscale restaurants and cafes. I tried a nearby Japanese izakaya, where the sashimi and grilled dishes were very fresh and reasonably priced.
Overall, MUJI Hotel Ginza may not be a luxury hotel, but every detail reflects MUJI’s philosophy of “simple but not simplistic.” Whether it’s the room design, service quality, or location, it’s perfect for travelers seeking comfort and taste.
