About the Central Library Structure
The building integrates a red brick warehouse with a new construction, featuring three floors: a general floor on the 1st floor, a children's library on the 2nd floor, and a collaborative floor on the 3rd floor.
The universal design includes step-free floors, bookshelves, desks, and restrooms at heights accessible for wheelchair users and others with mobility needs.
About the Red Brick Warehouse
The red brick warehouse (former Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Jujo Garrison Building No. 275) was built in 1919 and offers insight into Kita City's modern industrial history and the architectural techniques of the time.
