Nagoya In / Tokyo Out 3 Nights 4 Days Travel Plan~!

This Japan trip is a 3-night, 4-day schedule going to Nagoya. On Day 1, we stay in Tokyo, Day 2 in Wakoshi, and Day 3 in Chiba. On Day 4, we return home via Haneda, and on Day 1, we travel from Nagoya to Tokyo by Shinkansen.

When booking through SmartEX, the regular seat and Green Car reserved seat fares for Nagoya-Tokyo/Shinagawa are usually 11,300 yen / 14,960 yen, but they offer a 400 yen discount to 10,900 yen / 14,560 yen. The regular seat non-reserved fare is the same at 10,560 yen.

However, for the Green Car, the Hayatoku 3 Wide system operates, allowing reservations at 13,050 yen if booked 3 days in advance. Fully utilizing this system, I try to book through the SmartEX app. But the app blocks domestic card payments.

So, I tried through the website, and payment with a domestic card goes through smoothly. If you register your Suica on the EX app, you can ride the Shinkansen ticketless by tapping Suica, so I set that up as well. I plan to proceed the same way next month.

On Day 1 in Nagoya, I will receive 2 manhole cards and enjoy the 2nd round of afternoon tea. From Day 2 to Day 4, in the mornings, I will go around collecting manhole cards, and in the afternoons, continue the afternoon tea tour, and at night, enjoy illuminations with drinks.

About 50% of the canceled schedules from the 162nd Narita (Chiba) flight cancellations are added to this trip. I removed the 2 afternoon teas I was going to attend this time and added a Chiba manhole tour, and also plan to revive a year-end party with Tokyo friends. 🍹🍻🍷🥂🍸 too

I will also gain experience in Tokyo. I have visited Tokyo over 40 times, but among the 23 wards, I will walk through Nerima and Adachi wards, which I haven’t explored yet. I will also visit Kiyose City and Higashimurayama City to earn points.

The afternoon tea is the final highlight of the "Tokyo 4 Major Afternoon Teas," a bucket list dream since I first started in 2016. The Tokyo 4 Major Afternoon Teas are The Peninsula Tokyo, Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo, and Shangri-La Tokyo.

Since Shangri-La only accepts reservations for two or more people, I haven’t been able to go, but I have a Tokyo female friend who can join at short notice, so we will attend the Christmas afternoon tea together. Also, I have an early bird ticket booked to visit the Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Exhibition.

Among the 47 prefectures’ Pocket Manhole cards, 9 of the 47 prefectures are not yet installed, and out of 38 prefectures, I have visited 33, leaving 5 remaining. Saitama Prefecture will be the 34th. This is also my 5th nationwide trip. Thank you.
