Korean Cuisine in Akasaka, Tokyo

I'm totally hooked on this Korean-style alkaline knot shop! A rare standalone two-story café in Shin-Okubo, with white walls and glass windows, Korean-style flower pots at the entrance, and the aroma hits you even before you step inside~ It became a hit shortly after opening, with weekend afternoons always requiring a queue. Luckily, the takeout packaging is super cute, holding it feels like you're on the streets of Seoul✨
There are so many alkaline knot flavors it's hard to choose! Both savory and sweet options are available. I recommend heating the savory ones in the small oven inside the store~ The "Butter Pepper" flavor is a must-try! The surface is sprinkled with finely crushed pepper, and biting into it reveals a soft yet chewy dough. The buttery aroma mixed with a hint of sweetness is completely non-greasy~ The "Tiramisu" flavor is full of surprises, topped with a thick layer of cocoa powder and filled with mascarpone cream. Remember to hold your breath while eating (the cocoa powder really floats up!)🍫
I also tried the "Cheese Onion" and "Cinnamon Sugar" flavors. The former is savory and stringy, while the latter is coated with cinnamon sugar frosting. The dough is chewier than regular bakery bread~ The size is about one palm smaller, perfect for girls to eat one, two will fill you up~ The window seats on the second floor are perfect for photos, with sunlight pouring onto the wooden tables and Korean BGM playing, you instantly feel like you're in Hongdae!
