Located right next to Tokyo Dome, "Koishikawa Korakuen" is a daimyo garden created in the early Edo period within the upper residence of the Mito Tokugawa family. It remains a tranquil and dignified healing spot🏯🍃. It is designated as a Special Historic Site and Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the government, known as one of the few prestigious gardens in Tokyo.
The charm of this garden lies in the splendid fusion of Japanese and Chinese garden styles✨. Within the garden, you can find landscapes modeled after famous scenic spots such as Kyoto’s "Arashiyama" and China’s "West Lake," allowing you to feel a foreign breeze just by walking around. It is a stroll-style garden centered around a pond, offering different views each season, popular as a cherry blossom🌸 spot in spring and a maple leaf🍁 spot in autumn.
Taking a break on a bench inside the garden while gazing at the historic stone bridges, waterfalls, and artificial hills feels like entering another world. You can escape the hustle and bustle and experience a sensation of your heart gently unwinding🌸🌿. The contrast with the nearby Tokyo Dome is also interesting, and enjoying the contrast between calm and activity is recommended.
