
Ruijin, the Red Capital, was the seat of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic. The First National Congress of Soviets was held there in November 1931. Shazhouba in Ruijin is home to the site of the Second National Congress of Workers and Peasants, as well as the Red Well. Yunshi Mountain in Ruijin was the starting point for part of the Red Army's Long March.
Ganzhou City is located on the southern edge of the mid-subtropical zone and belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone.
