Tokyo 🍣🍱

#tokyospots One warm afternoon in Tokyo, we wandered into Edo Monogatari, a quiet corner of the city that felt like stepping back into old Japan. Wooden facades, narrow lantern-lit lanes, and tiny shops selling handmade combs and indigo textiles gave the place a soft, timeless charm. We sampled delicate wagashi under the shade of noren curtains, the sweet bean filling melting coolly against the summer heat. Nearby, an old shamisen player added a tender soundtrack that seemed to drift straight from the past. 🎐🏮🍡

A few days later, we ventured out to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, where leafy paths led us to bright stained-glass windows alive with Totoro and Howl. Inside, rooms overflowed with sketches, miniature sets, and hidden staircases that felt like a playful secret. We lingered by the rooftop garden where the giant robot from Laputa stood peacefully watching over the trees, cicadas buzzing in the warm afternoon air. 🌿🎨🤍

Evenings found us in tiny kissaten near Sangenjaya, sipping iced coffee while locals read worn paperbacks under soft lamps. Tokyo’s neon seemed far away here, replaced by a gentler summer rhythm one of quiet conversations, wooden floors that creaked underfoot, and little discoveries that made the city feel beautifully personal. 🌆☕📚
