Sensoji Temple Review 🙇🏻‍♀️🇯🇵

Sensoji Temple, also known as "Asakusa Kannon Temple," is the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo, dating back to the 7th century. Its distinctive feature is the Kaminarimon Gate, with its giant red lantern, a symbol of Asakusa. Entering the temple grounds, you'll find Nakamise Street, lined with souvenir shops selling Japanese sweets such as mochi, senbei, and matcha ice cream.
Inside the temple grounds, you'll find the Kannondo Hall, enshrined in the Bodhisattva Kannon, and a five-story pagoda. Must-do activities include:
• Casting "omikuji" fortune sticks (if you receive bad luck, tie them to ward off bad luck)
• Washing your hands and mouth at the sacred well before entering the main hall
• Strolling around the gardens and quiet corners behind the temple
🕰️ Opening Hours: The main hall is open from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM (the outer hall is always open)
🗓️ Travel Planning: Take the Ginza Line to Asakusa Station
📍 Address: Asakusa
💰 Average Price per Person: Free Admission
