Senso-ji Temple is located in Asakusa and enshrines the Bodhisattva Kannon.

The temple's highlight is Kaminarimon Gate (or "Thunder Gate," the main entrance with a large red shojin lantern hanging from it.

Behind Kaminarimon Gate is Nakamise-dori, a shopping street that leads to Hozomon Gate, lined with shops selling souvenirs, snacks, and food.

Guardian Deities: On either side of Kaminarimon Gate are statues of two Japanese deities: Fujinsama, the god of wind, and Raijinsama, the god of thunder.
