Marunouchi Christmas Tree 2020 Archive (Theme: "LOVE & WISHES")

Event Name: Marunouchi Bright Christmas 2020 ~LOVE & WISHES~
Dates: Thursday, November 5, 2020 – Friday, December 25, 2020 (approximately 50 days)

Key Decorations/Tree Features:
• Maru Cube, 1st Floor, Maru Building: "Love Earth"
• Approximately 10m tall, this Christmas tree expresses gratitude to the earth, its flora and fauna. It features paper-cut squirrels and reindeer. The materials used will be recycled as environmental resources.
• A lighting show set to MISIA's songs (including "Everything" and the newly recorded "Gloria –glorious evolution-") will be held daily from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM (15-minute intervals, approximately 5 minutes per show) during the event. MISIA herself also appeared at the lighting ceremony.
• Shin-Maru Building 3rd Floor Atrium "Love Flower"
• Eco-friendly paper petals dance and overlap in the air, creating a gorgeous, embroidered-like decoration.
• Marunouchi Brick Square Ichigokan Plaza "LOVE"
• A photogenic object where a heart shape appears in the air, created by numerous ornaments such as apples.
• Marunouchi Oazo 1st Floor "Love Sea"
• Sea turtles, whales, and other marine life motifs are adorned with flowers made from upcycled plastic bottles, expressing our commitment to the marine environment.
• Shin Tokyo Building 1st Floor Lobby "WISH"
• A hopeful tree with messages of wishes for the future scattered across the stars.
• Marunouchi Terrace "Love Wind"
• A green-themed illumination display inspired by the refreshing wind blowing through the streets of Marunouchi.
• Other:
• The "Marunouchi Flower Flash," an installation utilizing discarded flowers (fresh flowers scheduled for disposal), suddenly appeared in one of the areas during the event, creating a buzz.
• Digital Stamp Rally & Campaign
• Visit three or more locations to receive an original "LOVE & WISHES" wallpaper and a ¥1,000 online coupon for the first 5,000 people.
• Spend ¥3,000 or more at participating stores to enter a raffle. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
• Marunouchi Illuminations 2020
• Over 330 street trees along approximately 1.2 km of Marunouchi Nakadori Street will be illuminated with approximately 1.2 million champagne gold LED bulbs (19th year). Lighting Period: November 5, 2020 - February 14, 2021, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (until midnight in December).

2025 Marunouchi Christmas Event & Illumination Information (Reference: 2024-2025)

While there are no official updates, we have compiled information based on the 2024-2025 event schedule.
• Marunouchi Illuminations (23rd year)
• 286 street trees along the approximately 1.2 km of Marunouchi Nakadori Street will be illuminated with champagne gold LED bulbs (approximately 820,000 bulbs). Uses environmentally friendly natural energy.
• Marunouchi Street Park Winter
• Experience-based content such as a Christmas market, food trucks, and a skating rink on Gyoko-dori Street (November–December).
• WHITE KITTE / Breeze Tree
• A 13.5m-tall real fir tree and projection mapping (November–December).
• MARUNOUCHI BRIGHT HOLIDAY (Super Mario Collaboration)
• A 13m-tall "Power-Up Illumination" at Maru Cube on the first floor of Maru Building. A light and sound show. ⦁ Character decorations featuring Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, and more will also be available at other venues (November–mid-January).

"Toward a Future of Love, Hope, and Light—From the Marunouchi Christmas 2020 Archives to the Radiance of 2025"

Marunouchi's winter lanterns quietly lit up in keeping with the 2020 theme of "LOVE & WISHES." The approximately 10-meter-tall "Love Earth" tree, featuring paper-cut designs expressing gratitude to the Earth, its flora, and fauna, was magically lit up alongside MISIA's singing voice. Each light symbolized "love and hope," inviting visitors to feel warm and fuzzy inside.

New experiences were also born. Each theme captivated visitors, including "Love Flower," featuring petals dancing in the air, "LOVE," featuring hearts floating in the air, and "Love Sea," a nod to the life of the ocean. Digital stamp rallies and raffles also drew people in, bringing the entire city together to celebrate Christmas.

And in 2025, Marunouchi will continue to evolve even further while carrying on its traditional light. Champagne gold lights envelop Marunouchi Nakadori Street, making the illuminations a true winter tradition. Street Park also features a market and skating rink, offering a wealth of delicious treats and experiences.

The highlight is the "Power-Up Illuminations" collaboration with Super Mario. The 13-meter-tall illuminations towering over Maru Building's Maru Cube are sure to excite everyone. Photo spots featuring Princesses, Yoshi, and Luigi are scattered throughout the city, creating a space that will fill both adults and children with smiles.
