Tokyo Skytree (Tokyo Sky Tower, 東京スカイツリー) is an iconic landmark in Tokyo, located in the Sumida Ward. It is the tallest tower in the world and a popular tourist destination. 🗼✨
🗼Height: 634 meters (twice as tall as the Eiffel Tower).
🗼Purpose - TV and radio broadcasting, observation decks, shopping mall.
🗼Opened: May 22, 2012.
🗼Architecture: Combines futuristic design with Japanese traditions inspired by pagodas.
🗼Observation decks:
- Tembo Deck (350 m): The main deck with panoramic views of Tokyo, including Mount Fuji on a clear day. There is a cafe and a glass floor.
- Tembo Galleria (450 m): The highest point for visitors, with a "walk in the sky" effect.
- Tip: Get a combined ticket for both sites
🗼Solamachi: A huge shopping complex at the foot of the tower with shops, restaurants, an aquarium and a planetarium. Great for shopping and dining. 🛍️🍣
🗼Night illumination: The tower is illuminated in different colors depending on the season or events (for example, sakura in the spring or red and white tones for the New Year).
🗼Interesting facts
- The height of 634 m was chosen for a reason: the numbers "6-3-4" are read as "mu-sa-shi", a reference to the historical province of Musashi, where Tokyo is located.
- Anti-seismic technology: The design is inspired by ancient Japanese pagodas, resistant to earthquakes.
- Record: The tallest TV tower in the world (according to Guinness World Records).
🗼Best time: Morning for a clear view or evening for Tokyo's neon lights. Clear weather is the key to seeing Fuji!
