Archive: Catastrophe and the Power of Art (2018-2019)
• Period: October 6, 2018 - January 20, 2019. An exhibition commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Mori Art Museum.  
• Theme: This exhibition explores the possibilities of "catastrophe" and art. It explores how art addresses various tragedies, such as war, disasters, and social crises, and how it can serve as a force for healing and regeneration.  
• Structure:
• Section I: "How Art Depicts Disaster: Recording, Recreating, Imagining": Presenting a wide range of works, from realism to abstraction and social/personal tragedies. 
• Section II: "Creating from Destruction: The Power of Art": Focusing on the power of art to symbolize recovery and hope. 
• Artists: Approximately 40 artists and groups, including Yoko Ono, Tatsuo Miyajima, Thomas Demand, Chim↑Pom, and Kohei Yonemoto. Each artist expresses tragedy and rebirth.  
• Background and Significance: Thoughts born from catastrophe and shock. The exhibition garnered significant attention for its suggestion of the power of art to embrace grief and convey it to the future.

2025–2026 Featured Exhibitions
2025
• Sou Fujimoto: The Architecture of Primordial Future Forest
• Period: July 2–November 9, 2025.  
• Overview: This is architect Sou Fujimoto's first large-scale solo exhibition in Japan. The exhibition explores his 30-year architectural career, spanning from his early days to the present, in eight sections. Featuring models, installations, and mockups, the exhibition aims to create a space where anyone can experience the future of architecture.   
• Exhibition Features: A structure that questions the boundaries between "forest," "city," and "architecture." Also on display are the "Grand Ring" concept for Expo 2025 Osaka and a proposal for the future city, "Resonant City 2025."   
• Roppongi Crossing 2025: "Time Passes; We Are Eternal"
• Period: December 3, 2025 - March 29, 2026.  
• Overview: A series of special exhibitions held at the Mori Art Museum every three years. This time, the theme is "time" and "eternity," showcasing works by young and established artists, spanning the fields of architecture, fashion, and design.
2026
• Ron Mueck Exhibition
• Period: April 29 - September 23, 2026.  
• Summary: This is Australian sculptor Ron Mueck's first solo exhibition in Japan in approximately 16 years. His hyper-realistic human sculptures explore loneliness, vulnerability, and the essence of existence.
