Senso-ji Temple / Asakusa (Tokyo)

#mytraveldiary

Senso-ji in Asakusa is Tokyo’s oldest temple, and walking through the Thunder Gate (Kaminarimon) with its giant red lantern was thrilling. Nakamise Street leading to the temple was lined with shops selling snacks and souvenirs, buzzing with life. The temple itself, with its bright red halls and smoke from incense burners, had an atmosphere of both devotion and festivity. I drew an omikuji fortune, a fun tradition, and watched locals pray with deep sincerity. The blend of spirituality and vibrant culture made Senso-ji unforgettable. It’s the heart of old Tokyo. #mytraveldiary
