The Fujian Science and Technology Museum, located at the southern foot of Yushan Mountain in downtown Fuzhou and east of May Day Square, is a comprehensive museum integrating exhibitions, education, academic exchanges, training and experiments, and special effects film and television. It features a 4,000-square-meter permanent exhibition hall housing over 300 classic exhibits. It also houses provincial-level "Youth Science Studios" for computer robotics, information technology, radio direction finding, model aircraft, and woodworking. It also boasts a fully equipped, state-of-the-art academic lecture hall and training classrooms. Additionally, the museum boasts a 500-square-meter Academician Hall and a 150-meter-long Academician Gallery showcasing the contributions of 142 Fujian academicians.
The Science and Technology Museum's primary mission is to promote the scientific spirit, popularize scientific knowledge, and disseminate scientific ideas and methods to the public. It also aims to improve the public's scientific literacy through activities such as science exhibitions and outreach. The museum has been awarded titles such as National Advanced Science Popularization Collective, National Youth Extracurricular Activities Demonstration Base, Fujian Province Advanced Science Popularization Collective, and Fujian Province Civilized Unit.
