The Imperial Palace, located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, is the primary residence of the Emperor of Japan and the Imperial Family. It is also a significant historical and cultural symbol of Tokyo. The palace stands on the site of the former Edo Castle, which served as the political center of the Tokugawa Shogunate during the Edo period.
