🏰Experience Running Around the Imperial Palace|Tour Tokyo’s Beautiful Scenery and Convenient Running Stations
The running course around the outer perimeter of the Imperial Palace in central Tokyo (about 5 km) is a popular spot where you can enjoy a blend of historical scenery and a modern cityscape. Many local runners and travelers run here in the morning and evening, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
After your run, we recommend using running stations ("run-stes") equipped with changing rooms, luggage storage, and showers, such as Marunouchi Bike & Run directly connected to Tokyo Station, JOGLIS in Kojimachi, Raffine Running Style in Otemachi, and RUN CUBE in Kanda! All are within walking distance, so you can run comfortably without carrying anything, change, and then continue to a café or sightseeing.
🏃♀️Imperial Palace Running Experience|5 km Course Blending Nature and the City
➖ Course Overview
A jogging and running course of about 5 km that circles the outer perimeter of the Imperial Palace. You can run while enjoying landmarks such as Tokyo Station, Nippon Budokan, Sakuradamon Gate, and Chidorigafuchi, with a popular classic route where greenery and urban scenery intersect. The elevation difference is about 26 to 30 meters, providing a moderate incline as an accent.
➖ Usage Etiquette and Precautions
• Run counterclockwise (to the left), with left-side traffic as the rule.
• Since pedestrians and bicycles also share the path, especially in narrow sections, keep to a single file and prioritize mutual courtesy.
➖ Scenic Highlights
• Outside Sakuradamon Gate, Nijubashi Bridge, and along Chidorigafuchi, you can enjoy cherry blossom trees and moat views.
• Along the course, there are also "flower plates" depicting the flowers of each prefecture, giving you a feeling of traveling around Japan.
