The Making of Harry Potter - Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo
1 Chome-1-7 Kasugacho, Nerima City, Tokyo 179-0074, Japan
The world's largest indoor park inspired by the Harry Potter film universe, covering an area of 30,000 square meters, is located in the Nerima district of Tokyo.
It's best to purchase tickets in advance. I bought mine on trip.com and chose a time slot after 3:00 PM. It would have been even better if I had chosen a later time slot.
I went through the park relatively quickly, in about 120-150 minutes, visiting all the locations, the souvenir shop, and even grabbing a bite in the Gryffindor dining hall.
Here's a detailed review of the park, without being clouded by Harry Potter fandom:
Entry to the main area is timed, and they start letting people in 30 minutes before the time indicated on the ticket. Be prepared for a tedious wait in the general hall for about 15-20 minutes before the main tour of the locations begins.
It all starts in the general hall, where the "Goblet of Fire" is located at the center. Then there's the iconic moving staircase, with walls adorned with paintings that might even feature your "live" photos.
You'll see Dumbledore's office, the Room of Requirement, the Gryffindor and Slytherin common rooms, the boys' dormitories, Diagon Alley, and the Pensieve. Everything is executed at the highest level, down to the smallest details, making you feel like you're inside the movie.
There's also an opportunity to become part of a Quidditch cheerleading group. I recommend trying it out—it's amusing to watch yourself afterward.
Hagrid's hut is also featured, complete with a drooling dog, just like in the movies about the young wizards.
Special attention should be given to the fireplaces of the Ministry of Magic, the famous "Hogwarts Express" train, and the photo zones on Platform 9 3/4.
After exploring all the rooms, you'll find a scaled-down model of Hogwarts, which you'll want to examine from every angle.
Having been part of your favorite movie, you'll naturally want to take a piece of it home. There's a huge store with lots of interesting items, from keychains and magical sweets like chocolate frogs to the cake Rubeus Hagrid gave Harry Potter in the first movie, as well as magical clothing and wands.
You can then wrap up your journey in the dining hall, where you can have dinner and discuss your impressions with friends or your significant other.
Conclusion: If, like me, you've watched the Harry Potter movies, I definitely recommend it. However, don't expect any rides or thrilling attractions—this isn't Universal Studios or Disney. It's about immersing yourself and, for a brief moment, becoming part of the universe.
Before buying tickets, I read reviews where many mentioned spending 5-6 hours there. I don't understand how that's possible—perhaps you need to be a die-hard fan and linger everywhere. But that's just my opinion.
