Shengshan, located in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, is a major fishing port in my country. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, it had already become a prosperous fishing port town. In recent years, it has developed marine aquaculture, becoming Zhejiang Province's largest fresh seafood export base.
In addition to the fishing port scenery, the island's natural landscape is also quite pleasant. There are lovely pictographic rocks such as the Double Stone, the Couple Peak, and the steep and dangerous East Cliff.
East Cliff is a group of sea cliffs distributed in the eastern part of the island. The rock type is light flesh-red potassium granite. From Houlingtou Island to Eel Head Island, the mountain falls straight into the sea from halfway up the mountain, forming a 3-kilometer-long steep cliff with the highest point reaching more than 70 meters. Mountain flowers and vines hang on the wall, and long waves surge through the reefs and hit the cliffs, stirring and roaring, majestic and spectacular.
Suitable for all seasons, best in summer
fishing port
Shengshan Fishing Port is a nationally recognized, first-class public fishing port, renowned nationwide for its abundant marine products, earning it the nickname "East China Sea Fish Depot." During peak fishing season, tens of thousands of fishing boats and hundreds of thousands of fishermen from over a dozen coastal provinces and cities converge on Shengshan. It's a world of boats, a sea of fish. At night, lights illuminate both shore and boat, and tiny fishing fires drift across the waves, a vibrant riot of red, orange, yellow, and green, juxtaposing the starry sky and the Milky Way.
East Cliff
This is a perfect spot for photographers to watch the sunrise. Summer is ideal for photography, though the clouds may be thicker during this time of year, offering a unique experience. Standing on a precipitous cliff, gazing out at the sea, the sky and the surroundings merge into one, creating a sense of openness and relief, free from regrets in life.
