During our family trip to Tokyo, we visited the iconic Tokyo Skytree, the world’s tallest freestanding broadcasting tower, famous for its 360° panoramic observation decks.
We arrived in the afternoon and made a 7:30 PM reservation for the Tembo Galleria, giving us plenty of time to explore the area beforehand. The adjacent Tokyo Solamachi Shopping Mall is a lively complex filled with restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops — perfect for sightseeing, strolling around. We also visiting the Pokémon Center, and enjoying dinner before heading up.
As night fell, the illuminated Skytree looked absolutely stunning — truly a magical sight. The elevator ride was smooth and fast, and once we reached the observation deck, we were greeted by a breathtaking 360° view of Tokyo’s glittering nightscape. The endless sea of city lights created an unforgettable scene.
At the top, there are gift shops, a cafe, observation platforms, and even themed photo stands. My kid especially loved the Toy Story collaboration corner, where they had fun taking pictures. You can also ask the friendly staff to take photos at designated spots — free of charge!
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and one of the highlights of our Tokyo trip — definitely worth visiting for the incredible skyline views and family-friendly attractions around.
⏩ Tip: The best time to visit is in the evening — you’ll catch the sunset view and then watch Tokyo transform as the lights come on.
