Tokyo Tower at Zojo-ji

Zojo-ji: An Ancient Temple with Tokyo Tower as a Backdrop

Zojo-ji Temple, the head temple of the Jodo sect of Buddhism, is another historic temple in Tokyo, boasting stunning architecture and a must-see spot for photos of Tokyo Tower.

Zojo-ji Temple was built in 1393 and moved to its current location in 1598 by Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Tokugawa clan to rule Japan. Most of the temple buildings have been renovated, with only the Sangedatsumon Gate, the main entrance, being the only structure within the temple complex to survive World War II.

If you're looking for a beautiful photo opportunity of Tokyo Tower and want to admire the temple's architecture, Zojo-ji Temple is easily accessible and less crowded. It's a highly recommended destination.

Getting there: Subway: Daimon or Shibakoen Station
or JR Hamamatsucho Station
