Introducing Pure Land Temple Pagoda

The Jingtu Temple Pagoda, located east of Gaoyou City, was built during the reign of Emperor Shenzong (Wanli) of the Ming Dynasty. The seven-story, brick-built pagoda stands approximately 30 meters tall and is octagonal in shape. Among existing Buddhist pagodas in China, this seven-story, eight-sided brick pagoda, imitating a pavilion-style structure, is one of the best-preserved of its kind.

The pagoda's crown is the phoenix crown of the entire pagoda and the centerpiece of the pagoda. It consists of six parts: from bottom to top, the stupa bowl, the jewel, the dew tray, the wheel of the pagoda, the phoenix cover, and the vase. Except for the vase at the top, which is brass, the rest of the stupa parts are cast iron.
