Oh my! Want to catch the last glimpse of Jilin’s autumn scenery? These two "hidden self-drive routes" in Tonghua are simply legendary! So few people that you can have the entire road to yourself, no ticket fees at all, and you can take in the final splendid autumn views in the warm fall—perfect for chasing maple leaves!

They are hidden in southern Tonghua. One is the Duck Hot Line (Guosong to Qinghe section), and the other is the rural road from Tonghua through Donglai Township to Xidapo—both run entirely through the Shihu National Nature Reserve, with windows full of colorful forest scenery. Especially the red leaves of Guosongchuan, fiery and vibrant, with beauty rivaling paid scenic spots. Calling it the "free Laobian Valley" is no exaggeration; every snap is an autumn masterpiece that can blow up your social media!

- Recommended Spot 1: Guosongchuan, Duck Hot Line
Located in Tonghua County, Tonghua City, just over an hour’s drive from the city center, and you can conveniently continue on to Ji’an. No need to worry about directions, just navigate to "Guosongchuan, Tonghua County, Tonghua City" and follow the guidance to get there.
- Recommended Spot 2: Xidapo, 045 Rural Road
Just set your navigation to "Xidapo, Tonghua County, Tonghua City." If departing from Tonghua, set Qinghe Town as the destination and add "Donglai Township" and "Lujuanzi Village" as waypoints; if coming from Baishan towards Tonghua, add "Guosongchuan," "Xidapo," and "Lujuanzi Folk Village" as waypoints to easily encounter this beautiful scenery.

Classic Route (Departing from Changchun/Shenyang)

- Day 1: Changchun (Shenyang) → Tonghua → Donglai Township → Lujuanzi Village → Xidapo → Guosongchuan → Guosong Town → Baishan City
Follow the autumn scenery all the way; each segment offers different views. Arrive in Baishan in the evening just in time to rest.
- Day 2: Baishan City → Shui Si Line → Hushang Village → Tonghua City Tongjiajiang Tourism Resort / Longhu Mountain Water Residence → Return trip
On the way back, detour to Shui Si Line and Hushang Village to catch some lesser-known autumn views, then finish at scenic spots in Tonghua city center. The itinerary is packed and fulfilling.
