Relaxing Two-Day Trip to Wuzhen Xizha

Take a relaxing two-day, one-night trip to Wuzhen Xizha Scenic Area in Hangzhou.

Wuzhen, a famous water town in Jiangnan, China.
After reading many introductions, I decided to visit!

I transferred to a direct bus to the Xizha Tourist Service Center from Hangzhou East Station. On a weekday afternoon, there were still plenty of tickets available for purchase on-site. I chose the bus mainly to catch some sleep💤. Upon arrival, I also inquired about the bus schedule to Xiaoshan Airport for the next day🚌.

I booked a hotel called "Shuixiangyi" on Trip, which included breakfast for two, Xizha Scenic Area tickets for two, and a shuttle ride into the park. All homestays or hotels within Wuzhen require check-in at the Tourist Service Center, where staff will guide you to a shuttle bus to your hotel. Upon reaching the hotel, the front desk staff will register your "facial recognition"🤵♂️, allowing you to freely enter and exit the Xizha Scenic Area multiple times. Although the hotel was a bit far from the entrance, it was quieter as a result.

▫️ Guoyue Theater: Open-air cinema from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

▫️ Evening stroll outside the park for dinner, followed by a return trip via a traditional sculling boat to re-enter the park at night. The ride lasts about 25 minutes and costs RMB ¥60/person.
▫️ Xiqingtang: Showcasing Jiangnan's traditional wedding customs, celebratory rituals, marriage certificates, and even paid Hanfu experiences.
▫️ Bailian Temple: The highest point in Wuzhen, offering panoramic views.
▫️ Yue Lao Temple
▫️ Three-Inch Golden Lotus Museum
▫️ Lunch🍱: At "11th Private Kitchen." I didn’t specifically search for it; I just picked a place with a window seat, and it turned out to be quite good😋.

Breakfast was at another hotel, "Zhenshui Resort Hotel." Since the breakfast time at "Zhaocha Guesthouse" was from 7:00 to 9:00 AM and I was worried I wouldn’t wake up in time, I opted for the hotel breakfast instead. It was about a 10-minute leisurely walk. Just show your room card to the staff for access, find a seat, and enjoy. Overall, the food was decent.

This two-day, one-night stay truly fulfilled my dream of experiencing a Jiangnan water town. Since it was the last stop of my trip and I was exhausted, I left some places unexplored for my next visit. Next time, I’ll make it the first stop of my journey❤️.
