From Peru to Patagonia

White Desert proudly announces the launch of its new luxury journey series — the Dr. Jones Collection. The inaugural itinerary will commence this September, embarking on a 12-day extraordinary South American expedition from Peru to Patagonia.

This marks White Desert’s first expansion beyond polar regions, crafting a bespoke journey that blends the charm of 1940s aviation travel with the cinematic thrill of adventure. Guests will board a luxuriously retrofitted Dakota aircraft, making elegant landings in some of South America’s most remote airspaces for a seamless and uniquely styled exploration.

The carefully curated destinations are little-known, near-pristine hidden gems. In just 12 days, guests will immerse themselves in the breathtaking natural wonders spanning from the Andean highlands to the wilds of Patagonia, experiencing extraordinary and rare geological diversity.

The journey begins in Peru at the foot of the majestic Gocta Falls, the world’s third-highest waterfall, where guests will trek through Amazonian cloud forests to discover ancient mummy relics. After a short flight, the adventure arrives at the newly established Dune Camp, nestled beside a spectacular oasis, where guests can dive into crystal-clear waters to hunt for precious scallop shells.

Above the salt flats of the Atacama Desert, guests will enjoy an unparalleled stargazing experience before hiking through canyons to reach natural hot springs encircled by volcanoes. In Patagonia’s Torres del Paine National Park, they’ll ride alongside local Gauchos across vast landscapes, surrounded by dramatic glaciers cascading into the ocean.

Patrick Woodhead, founder of White Desert, shared: “Just as we’ve done in Antarctica, I wanted to create a journey that balances adventure with luxury — and with the Dr. Jones Collection, we’ve found that perfect equilibrium. During the reconnaissance for this trip, we discovered places so surreal, they felt like dreams.”

Throughout the journey, White Desert’s expert expedition guides will accompany guests alongside seasoned pilots and crew, ensuring the same level of safety and comfort honed over two decades of Antarctic operations.

Starting September 2025, three Dr. Jones expeditions will be offered, priced at $49,950 per person.
