🚩 Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in the afternoon – Wuyi Museum – Tangshi Niutou Restaurant – Wuyi Ancient Town
Day 2: Guodong Village – Jingyuan – Huatian Meidi
Day 3: Morning rest – Lunch at Wuyi Wooden Barrel Fish – Yuyuan Village
Day 4: Niutou Mountain Forest Park – Yanfu Temple – Shanxiabao Village
Day 5: Return trip
🍼 Traveling with a baby? This itinerary is quite relaxed!
For a tighter schedule, you can compress it by a day. Or, spend more time at Huatian Meidi!
‼️ Check my previous notes for detailed attraction guides.
🚙 Transportation: Self-drive
From Fuzhou, it takes about 5.5 hours to reach Wuyi.
‼️ Important reminder: When navigating, ALWAYS choose the full highway route! The smart-recommended route includes a provincial road, "Yunshou Line," which is currently under construction and heavily congested—only one-way alternating traffic is allowed. We got stuck here for over an hour 💔. The highway may be longer, but it’s traffic-free! Plus, tolls are waived during Labor Day!
‼️ From Fuzhou to southern Zhejiang, navigation often defaults to Yunshou Line. This road is tough, especially in bad weather with poor visibility due to fog—strongly NOT recommended ❌. Spend a little extra time and money for peace of mind.
🏨 Accommodation
Glare Hotel (Wenquan Road Branch)
Has parking, but limited spaces—hard to park.
Wuyi Niutou Mountain Dream Hot Spring Hotel
Convenient parking, located inside the scenic area (though a short drive from the main attractions).
Rooms are dated but spacious! The mountain area stays cool—no AC needed during Labor Day.
The hotel offers hot springs ♨️, a small shop, and dining options.
🤩 Why Wuyi?
—Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin didn’t lie!
Yanfu Temple is simple yet elegant, embodying the charm of Chinese aesthetics.
Shanxiabao Village is hidden in the mountains, quiet and untouched—truly breathtaking!
I went specifically for these two spots and was utterly amazed!
👣 Overall
Wuyi is an off-the-beaten-path destination—even during Labor Day, crowds are minimal.
Perfect for a reverse holiday getaway: head to the mountains, explore ancient towns, breathe fresh air, and unwind!
