Tottori Sand Dunes & Sand Museum (2025 Japan Exhibition)

The Tottori Sand Dunes, located in Fukube Town, Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture, are Japan's largest sand dune formation. The Sand Museum, situated about a 5-minute walk from the sand dunes' entrance, is the world's first museum dedicated to "sand sculpture art." The exhibitions change annually based on themes, and the theme for 2025 is the Japan Exhibition.

I visited in early June before the rainy season, and it was already very hot. The sand surface reached over 30 degrees Celsius, and there were no supply points along the way. It's recommended to prepare supplies before "stepping onto the sand dunes." The sand at Tottori Sand Dunes is extremely fine, and even after returning to Taiwan, I still found sand in my shoes!
