Located along the Sea of Japan, Hakuto Coast is a place steeped in myth and beauty. It’s said to be the setting of the famous Japanese legend “The White Rabbit of Inaba.” Just as in the story, the coastline features reef formations resembling the backs of sharks — stretching gracefully against the pure white sand in a perfect arc. The scenery is breathtaking, especially at sunset when the sky turns golden.
Recognized in 2010 as one of Japan’s official “Lover’s Sanctuaries,” Hakuto is known as the birthplace of Japan’s first love story.
A short walk away, you’ll find Hakuto Shrine, where adorable white rabbit statues welcome visitors. The shrine is believed to bring blessings for love and relationships, making it a must-visit for couples and romantics alike.
